Mumbai, 21st July. On the eve of Guru Purnima, on Saturday, 20th July, 2024, a successful “Guru-Vandan” ceremony was organized in the auditorium of Public High School and Junior College, Santacruz under the joint aegis of Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy, Mumbai and Hindi Sahitya Bharati, Mumbai. As a result of the attractive songs, dances and ideological expressions presented by the students here to respect the teachers, this ceremony became memorable for all the guests and spectators present.
Senior politician Amarjeet Mishra was the chief guest in this function and as special guests, Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy’s working president Dr. Shitala Prasad Dubey, NM College, Mumbai’s Hindi department head Dr. Mamta Jha, famous folk singer Vinod Dubey, Hindi Seva Parishad’s founder Yagyanarayan Dubey and Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy, Mumbai’s executive member Gajanan Mahatpurkar were present, who were felicitated by Public High School and Junior College’s principal Dr. Rakesh Y. Dubey by presenting a shawl and coconut. In his welcome speech, the Principal also informed about the background and details of the institution. At the beginning of the function, various students enthralled the audience with their attractive performances of Saraswati Vandana, welcome song and Guru Vandan dance and their emotional expressions towards the teachers. Thereafter, the famous folk singer Vinod Dubey won the appreciation of all by giving a melodious presentation of Guru Vandana through his impressive songs.
Thereafter, all the guests inspired the students by doing a detailed analysis of the Guru-disciple tradition in Indian culture from the Vedic period to the present times. Many dignitaries including industrialist and social worker Mahendra Surana, senior poetess Reema Rai Singh, children’s literature writer Rita Kushwaha and Alka Jain “Anandi”, novelist Lakshmi Yadav and poet & journalist Ravi Yadav were present in the audience gallery. The function was successfully anchored by Dr. Varsha Mahesh and at the end of the function, State General Secretary of Hindi Sahitya Bharati, Advocate Rajeev Mishra expressed his gratitude to all the distinguished guests who attended the function.
