Mumbai, 12th January. Bajaj Energy and Lalitpur Power Generation Company Limited (LPGCL), under the country’s leading industrial house Bajaj Group, have been felicitated for their outstanding contribution in the field of water conservation at the prestigious Water Optimization Awards-2025 of Mission Energy Foundation held in Goa.
These awards organized by Mission Energy Foundation honor organizations that demonstrate exceptional water management practices. Lalitpur Power Generation Company Limited of Bajaj Group has been awarded with ‘Best Zero Liquid Discharge Plant of the Year’ while Bajaj Energy Limited (BEL) has received the ‘Best Water Reuse and Recycling Plant of the Year’ award. These significant achievements are testimony to the companies’ remarkable commitment towards sustainable water management practices.
Dr. AV Singh, Chief Sustainability Officer of Bajaj Group, was also recognized as the ‘ Best Water Efficient Leader of the Year’, a special award under the individual category. The awards were presented by Shri Suresh Prabhu, renowned politician and former Central Minister, and Shri RN Jindal, former Director of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).
On this achievement, Dr. AV Singh said that we are thrilled to receive these prestigious awards, which recognize our efforts towards water conservation and sustainable practices. It is noteworthy that more than 150 nominations were received from various top organizations under the Water Optimization Awards- 2025, out of which only about 50 organizations were selected for the award.
These awards have well demonstrated the dedication of Bajaj Energy and LPGCL to promote conservation of water resources and sustainable development. It is worth mentioning that Bajaj Energy is a leading thermal power generation company in the country under the Indian Bajaj Group. It operates the largest thermal power plant in the private sector in Uttar Pradesh and is known for its innovative and sustainable practices that light up millions of homes in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The company has six power plants in the state with a combined capacity of around 2,500 MW, over 10% of the state’s power requirement. The largest unit is Lalitpur Power Generation Company (LPGCL), a super critical unit with an installed capacity of 1,980 MW.
