Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.85484.74 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 05 February 2025 till 5:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 13934.27 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 71547.63 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Feb-25 futures was reached at 20291 point.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 10866.32 crores. MCX gold April futures touched its all-time high of Rs. 84767 per 10 grams. This futures rose by Rs. 872 or 1.04% to Rs. 84669. Gold June futures were quoted at its all-time high of Rs. 85537. GOLDGUINEA Feb-25 contract was up by 1.19% to Rs. 67739 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Feb-25 contract was up by 1.25% to Rs. 8360 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Mar-25 contract was up by 1.04% to Rs. 84027 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.24% to Rs. 95943 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.29% to Rs. 95734 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.27% to Rs. 95700 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4490.65 crores with volume of 5317 lots and OI of 18812 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2748.47 crores with volume of 9524 lots and OI of 30531 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1120.72 crores. COPPER Feb-25 contract was up by 0.28% to Rs. 842.2 per kg and ZINC Feb-25 contract was down by 0.77% to Rs. 265.8 per kg while ALUMINIUM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.04% to Rs. 254 per kg and LEAD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.33% to Rs. 180.4 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 696.06 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 129.86 crores, Lead futures Rs. 29.06 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 176.84 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1897.46 crores. CRUDEOIL Feb-25 contract was down by 0.66% to Rs. 6301 per BBL while NATURALGAS Feb-25 contract was down by 3.1% to Rs. 278.6 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 335.89 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1246.05 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Feb-25 contract was up by 0.26% to Rs. 920 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was up by 0.13% to Rs. 53850 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 71547.63 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1148.63 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was down by 12.56% to Rs. 143.40 with volume of 70345 lots & OI of 15633 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was up by 18.79% to Rs. 143.5 with volume of 81697 lots & OI of 13611 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was down by 25.26% to Rs. 14.20 with volume of 14336 lots & OI of 3716 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was up by 35.06% to Rs. 15.6 with volume of 15034 lots & OI of 4329 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.87000 was up by 75.62% to Rs. 533.00 with volume of 1542 lots & OI of 554 lots, while Gold Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.83000 was down by 29.68% to Rs. 655 with volume of 1841 lots & OI of 537 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by 4.34% to Rs. 2900.00 with volume of 1397 lots & OI of 970 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by 8.34% to Rs. 1929.5 with volume of 1270 lots & OI of 520 lots.
