Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.42897.45 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 28 January 2025 till 5:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9386.1 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 33510.39 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Feb-25 futures was reached at 19247 point.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 6677.71 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.41% to Rs. 79905 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Jan-25 contract was up by 1.84% to Rs. 64846 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.6% to Rs. 7942 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.38% to Rs. 79813 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.25% to Rs. 90445 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.28% to Rs. 90420 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.28% to Rs. 90415 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3588.83 crores with volume of 4482 lots and OI of 16677 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1268.55 crores with volume of 4678 lots and OI of 26409 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1245.88 crores. COPPER Jan-25 contract was down by 0.25% to Rs. 830.75 per kg and ZINC Jan-25 contract was down by 0.64% to Rs. 264.4 per kg while ALUMINIUM Jan-25 contract was up by 1.34% to Rs. 254 per kg and LEAD Jan-25 contract was down by 0.37% to Rs. 176.5 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 666.91 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 150.22 crores, Lead futures Rs. 26.20 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 252.32 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1470.84 crores. CRUDEOIL Feb-25 contract was up by 1.3% to Rs. 6382 per BBL while NATURALGAS Jan-25 contract was down by 0.76% to Rs. 312.2 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 349.94 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 882.66 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Jan-25 contract was down by 0.03% to Rs. 917 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was down by 0.85% to Rs. 52400 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 33510.39 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 703.42 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6400 was up by 26.06% to Rs. 174.60 with volume of 41582 lots & OI of 8796 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was down by 20.74% to Rs. 144.5 with volume of 38438 lots & OI of 8826 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was down by 16.07% to Rs. 14.10 with volume of 7673 lots & OI of 3137 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was up by 6.4% to Rs. 18.3 with volume of 7531 lots & OI of 2778 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.81000 was up by 15.68% to Rs. 970.00 with volume of 360 lots & OI of 260 lots, while Gold Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.79000 was down by 12.85% to Rs. 590 with volume of 372 lots & OI of 415 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 4.45% to Rs. 2627.50 with volume of 657 lots & OI of 886 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 4.22% to Rs. 2225.5 with volume of 647 lots & OI of 882 lots.
