
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.88315.1 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 21 February 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11903.09 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 76411.29 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Feb-25 futures was reached at 20524 point.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7590.21 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.26% to Rs. 85799 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Feb-25 contract was down by 0.43% to Rs. 69644 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Feb-25 contract was down by 0.13% to Rs. 8726 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Mar-25 contract was down by 0.33% to Rs. 85548 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.3% to Rs. 96820 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was down by 0.32% to Rs. 96610 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was down by 0.31% to Rs. 96577 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3519.54 crores with volume of 4104 lots and OI of 17742 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1552.17 crores with volume of 5320 lots and OI of 26477 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1415.00 crores. COPPER Feb-25 contract was down by 0.34% to Rs. 866.8 per kg and ZINC Feb-25 contract was down by 0.44% to Rs. 270.35 per kg while ALUMINIUM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.38% to Rs. 265.5 per kg and LEAD Feb-25 contract was down by 0.39% to Rs. 178.6 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 858.01 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 115.82 crores, Lead futures Rs. 42.87 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 288.15 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2895.31 crores. CRUDEOIL Mar-25 contract was down by 1.19% to Rs. 6241 per BBL while NATURALGAS Feb-25 contract was up by 5.47% to Rs. 372.1 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 262.83 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 2193.41 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Feb-25 contract was down by 0.27% to Rs. 921 per kg .
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 76411.29 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 927.98 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was down by 21.79% to Rs. 138.90 with volume of 31410 lots & OI of 12374 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was up by 22.94% to Rs. 197.2 with volume of 35876 lots & OI of 5862 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.380 was up by 175% to Rs. 2.75 with volume of 56859 lots & OI of 4360 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.370 was down by 73.77% to Rs. 5.05 with volume of 37176 lots & OI of 4662 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.86000 was down by 17.03% to Rs. 589.50 with volume of 1815 lots & OI of 728 lots, while Gold Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 14.5% to Rs. 351.5 with volume of 1863 lots & OI of 1129 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was down by 23.87% to Rs. 732.00 with volume of 4636 lots & OI of 948 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was down by 9.11% to Rs. 384 with volume of 3643 lots & OI of 961 lots.
