
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.76040.15 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 05 March 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 15778.83 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 60260.6 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Mar-25 futures was reached at 20460.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 9693.14 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 86055 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Mar-25 contract was down by 0.01% to Rs. 69877 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.09% to Rs. 8769 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.2% to Rs. 86450 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 1.15% to Rs. 95822 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was up by 1% to Rs. 97226 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was up by 1.02% to Rs. 97248 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 5053.83 crores with volume of 5868 lots and OI of 18021 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2127.84 crores with volume of 7301 lots and OI of 20041 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 2217.33 crores. COPPER Mar-25 contract was up by 1.76% to Rs. 877.3 per kg and ZINC Mar-25 contract was up by 1.02% to Rs. 271.15 per kg while ALUMINIUM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.56% to Rs. 260 per kg and LEAD Mar-25 contract was up by 0.19% to Rs. 180.7 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1627.62 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 133.22 crores, Lead futures Rs. 24.26 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 315.22 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 4014.94 crores. CRUDEOIL Mar-25 contract was down by 1.63% to Rs. 5863 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was down by 2.48% to Rs. 377.7 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 534.77 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 2874.22 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Mar-25 contract was down by 0.22% to Rs. 913 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs. 52500 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 60260.6 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1267.16 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 32.78% to Rs. 80.80 with volume of 61548 lots & OI of 19536 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was up by 43.85% to Rs. 165 with volume of 59809 lots & OI of 9714 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.380 was down by 19.04% to Rs. 21.90 with volume of 24420 lots & OI of 3461 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.370 was up by 28.62% to Rs. 19.1 with volume of 22444 lots & OI of 3339 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.87000 was up by 1.81% to Rs. 758.50 with volume of 1184 lots & OI of 455 lots, while Gold Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 3.77% to Rs. 728.5 with volume of 904 lots & OI of 632 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was up by 17.99% to Rs. 3375.00 with volume of 745 lots & OI of 664 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by 12.1% to Rs. 2207.5 with volume of 310 lots & OI of 357 lots.
