Mumbai, 21st September. In a decent and elegant literary program organized at Mumbai University, the third issue of the continuously popular quarterly literary magazine “Srujanika” was released. On this occasion, the meritorious winners of the Hindi story competition jointly organized by “Srujanika” and “Shodhavari” on the birth anniversary of Munshi Premchand ji were also awarded.
This memorable magazine release program was held on Friday, 20th September, 2024 in the Shodhavari meeting room of Shankarrao Chavan Bhavan located in the Kalina campus of Mumbai University. The program started with Saraswati Vandana in the melodious voice of poetess Roshni Kiran. In his welcome address, the editor of “Srujanika”, Dr. Amrish Sinha, informed that “Srujanika” magazine is rapidly making its place in the hearts of the people. He said that the availability of “Srujanika” at the stalls of railway stations and the constant demand for it by readers and vendors proves the authenticity of the popularity of this magazine.
Senior poet, advisory editor and retired professor of Mumbai University, Dr. Hubnath Pandey, highlighted “Srujanika” as one magazine equal to the three most talked about and famous magazines of the country and mentioned its purity, dignity and comprehensiveness. The powerful poem “Ladaka Ladkiyon” presented by him received a lot of applause from the audience. Well- known stage presenter, senior poet and co-editor of “Srujanika” Anand Prakash Singh said in his address that the gathering of the editorial board, publisher, printer and readers on the occasion of the release of this magazine reflects everyone’s love for this magazine.
Senior poet, Chairman and Managing Director of Konkan Railway Corporation and Chief Editor of “Srujanika” Santosh Kumar Jha, who was presiding over the program, congratulated the editorial board of the magazine and wished for the commendable progress of this magazine. He enthralled the audience by reciting the satire “Fata Juta” written by the pioneer of satire writing, Harishankar Parsai, on the life of the king of stories, Munshi Premchand. He and other dignitaries present on the stage jointly released the newly published third issue of “Srujanika”. Rajesh Kumar Sinha, the chief sub-editor of “Srujanika”, overwhelmed the audience with his poem centered on the magazine. On this occasion, Mumbai based poetess Reema Singh, popular Ghazal writer Rakesh Sharma and poet of rhyming compositions Uday Narayan Singh ‘Nirjhar’ praised “Srujanika” through their poetic compositions. Ms. Neeta Vajpayee, representative of the famous literary and cultural organization “Aashirwad”, highlighted the usefulness of literature in society while highlighting the 55-years journey of “Aashirwad”. All the listeners were overwhelmed by the excellent anchoring by “Srujanika” sub-editor Prince Grover.
In the end, outgoing senior editor of the popular in-house magazine “Rail Darpan”, well-known poet-lyricist, executive member of Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy and media & public relations in-charge of “Srujanika” Gajanan Mahatpurkar expressed his gratitude to everyone in a special poetic creation with his unique style and well-chosen words. On this occasion, the winners of the story writing competition organized on Munshi Premchand Jayanti on 31st July, 2024 were awarded by the program chairman Santosh Kumar Jha and other guests.
In the story writing competition, Rajesh Kumar Jha was awarded first, Bhimsen Singh was awarded second prize and two students Ms. Ragini Kamble and Ms. Asiya Sheikh were jointly awarded third prize. In this program, Madhu Sawant, printer of “Srujanika”, Raman Mishra, in-charge of Paridrishya publication, senior litterateur Alka Agarwal “Sigtia”, writer Ms. Sangeeta Vajpayee, Vijaya Magar, Aarti Jadia, Pushpa Chaudhary, Priya Pokle, Shreya and Pramod along with many active writers of Mumbai metropolis and students of various classes of Mumbai University were present in large number.
