Mumbai, 14th November. Maharashtra’s leading social service organization “Sheetal Lodha Foundation” has taken an exemplary initiative by distributing solar powered useful bags to 70 tribal students under its ‘Support to Education’ campaign, as a result of which these students will now be able to make their future bright by ensuring their studies in a better way even after sunset through the light provided by these solar bags.
This important distribution ceremony was organized at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivali, Mumbai, in which 70 students from tribal communities of nearby Tumnipada, Koknipada and Navpada areas were provided with unique solar powered bags to overcome the challenges arising from lack of electricity in their villages.
Spearheaded by Ms. Yashvi Lodha, daughter of Mrs. Sheetal and Mr. Abhinandan Lodha in-charge of Sheetal Lodha Foundation, the initiative distributed solar powered backpacks to ensure that students have easy access to a reliable source of light for their studies and daily activities even after sunset. The ceremony was also attended by various forest officials alongwith Abhinandan Lodha, father of Ms. Yashvi Lodha and Chairman of Lodha Ventures and Forester N.B. Muthe of Forest Department. The ceremony started with a live musical performance by the teen band The Lucky Charms who entertained the audience with their melodious renditions of Hindi songs. After the distribution ceremony, the coordinator of the ceremony Ms. Yashvi Lodha in her motivational address encouraged the children to continue their education despite the challenges. Sharing her views on this remarkable initiative, she said that education is the key to a bright future and every child deserves to learn and grow without any limits.
Hence, through the Solar Bag initiative, we aim to bridge the gap for students who face various challenges due to lack of electricity. She said that these solar powered bags are not just useful tools for studies but they are a symbol of hope, resilience and light of positive life for all these students. After her address, Ms. Yashvi Lodha along with the Chief Guest of the function Abhinandan Lodha and various forest officials distributed solar bags to all the 70 students present.
