Mumbai, 22nd September. As part of the Hindi fortnight being celebrated under the banner of Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy, Mumbai, an elegant symposium on the topic “Past, present and future of Rajbhasha Hindi” was held at Janta Junior College run by Janta Shikshan Sanstha, Nagbhid in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.
This program organized on Saturday, 21st September, 2024 was presided over by Dr. Amir Dhamani, former Dean of Gondwana University and President of the institution. Dr. Vijendra Batra, Executive Member of Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy was present as the chief guide in the symposium. Former Legislative member of Gondwana University Ajay Kabra, Secretary of Janata Shikshan Sanstha Dr. Ravindra Kavade and Vice President Chakradhar Rohankar participated as the chief guests. After the inauguration of the symposium program with the Maharashtra State Song, the introduction was given by the Principal of Janata Junior College, Diwakar Thackeray. He informed about the successful participation of the students of his college in the examination organized by Rashtriya Bhasha Hindi Samiti, Wardha and briefed about various other activities. In the beginning, various dignitaries and chief guide Dr. Vijendra Batra were welcomed on behalf of Sahitya Academy and Janta Shikshan Sanstha. In his speech, Dr. Batra threw light on the past of official language Hindi and made a special mention of the unforgettable contribution of great saints Tulsidas, Kabirdas, Surdas etc. in the journey of Hindi language born from Sanskrit to its present form.
He discussed the historical efforts of some non-Hindi speaking writers to establish Hindi as the national language in principle in the freedom movement. He said that the popularity of Hindi is continuously increasing due to the use of Hindi language by our Prime Minister in international level events and we are confident that soon Hindi language will be recognized as the official language of the United Nations. He also appealed to the students to ensure 100% support to the efforts to declare official language Hindi as the national language. The program’s chairman Dr. Amir Dhamani expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Academy for organizing this program in Janata Junior College, Nagbhid and expressed his intention to always provide all possible support in the future. In his address, the chief guest Ajay Kabra expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy for ensuring wide publicity of Hindi through such creative programs in various schools, colleges and universities and to Maharashtra’s Culture Minister Sudhirbhau Mungantiwar for selecting Dr. Vijendra Batra in the Academy as the representative of Chandrapur district. The program was smoothly conducted by Hindi teacher Ms. Sangeeta Matte. The program concluded after Gajendra Dhurve expressed his gratitude towards all.
