Maharashtra: Mumbai, 1st August. “Premchand Jayanti” function was successfully organized in the auditorium of Christ Academy and Junior College, Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai on Wednesday, 31st July under the joint aegis of Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy, Mumbai and Hindi Sahitya Bharati, Mumbai. As a result of the stories of Munshi Premchand and their impressive theatrical presentation by the students of this educational institution, this function became memorable for all the guests and spectators.
In this function, Dr. Sheetla Prasad Dubey, working president of Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy, was the chief guest. Anand Prakash Singh, senior announcer of Akashvani and member of Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy, Father Jason, Director of Christ Academy and Advocate Rajiv Mishra, General Secretary of Hindi Sahitya Bharati, Mumbai were present as special guests. All the guests were welcomed by presenting books of classic literature written by Munshi Premchand jee, which was a remarkable initiative. At the beginning of the function, the attractive presentation of classical dance presented by the students to welcome the guests captivated the audience present. Thereafter, stories of Munshi Premchand were presented by various students of the school. In this program, the dramatic presentation of “Bade Ghar Ki Beti” and “Budhi Kaki” brought tears to the eyes of the audience. Chief guest Dr. Sheetla Prasad Dubey, in his speech, highlighted the relevance of Munshi Premchand’s stories and encouraged the students for their emotional presentation. “Premchand’s literature is a mirror of society.” Saying this, special guest Anand Prakash Singh also gave presentation tips to the participants. Father Jason also assured about celebrating Premchand Jayanti as a festival every year in the future. Hindi Sahitya Bharati’s state general secretary Adv. Rajiv Mishra defined Munshi Premchand’s stories as the basic concept of life philosophy and encouraged the participants. In the program, participation certificates were also given to all the participants by Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy. On this occasion, the presence of Hindi Sahitya Bharati’s state Secretary and children’s literature writer Rita Kushwaha, senior litterateur Manju Gupta and Hindi department head Dr. Pooja Alapuria along with Hindi department teachers Deepali Gund, Kanchan Jaiswal, Rajkumari Ahuja, Vidya Hoval, Namrata Nikam, Soni Jitendra Mishra and Chhaya Gupta was especially noteworthy. The function was successfully conducted by Simra Sheikh and Atharva Dhuri. In the end, Sachin Nimbalkar, Co-Director of Cultural Affairs Department of Maharashtra and Member Secretary of Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy expressed his gratitude to all the distinguished guests who attended the function.
