Mumbai, 23rd February. Shantilal B. Jain – senior social worker of Mumbai and coordinator of the leading social and cultural organization Nai Udaan has been appointed as an invitee member of the Maharashtra State Executive Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The appointment letter to this effect has been issued by BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule. It is noteworthy that Shantilal B. Jain, was born in 1949 in Udaipur, Rajasthan, but he is a successful businessman of Mumbai for the last several decades and has always been at the forefront of the country’s welfare and social welfare works. Shri Jain, who became a municipal corporator of Mumbai Municipal Corporation for the first time in 1992, was selected as the best corporator in 1996 out of 221 municipal corporators of Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
He has also been the Chairman of the Works Committee and a member of the Law Committee of Mumbai Municipal Corporation in 1996. Shantilal Jain, having a sociable and philanthropic nature, is an active office bearer of various social and educational organizations like Bharat Jain Mahamandal, Anuvrat Trust, Jain International Trade Organization, Nayi Udaan and Jain Phulwari, besides organizing blood donation camps and providing financial assistance for the education of poor children. He also has been a pioneer in providing Jaipur
foot instruments to the disabled. He have also played an active role in cleanliness awareness campaigns run by Mumbai Municipal Corporation and immediate resolution of public problems. He is very popular with the name of Paniwala Bhai among the local residents for carrying out the important work of replacing the old water pipeline and laying a new pipeline in Kalbadevi area. Various organizations associated with Shri Jain have heartily congratulated him on his new political appointment and have extended best wishes to him for his tenure.
