Mumbai, 2nd May. For his continuous remarkable contribution in the fields of public relations, literature, stage anchoring and poetry creation for the last three decades in the country’s financial capital and Mayanagari Mumbai and for successfully editing the popular house magazine of Western Railway “Rail Darpan” for 21 years, which was awarded by Her Excellency the President of India, as the best in house magazine of the country, senior lyricist of Mumbai Gajanan Mahatpurkar was honoured by presenting the prestigious trophy of “Dhadak Lekhan Samman” and draping a shawl in a dignified ceremony held at Aarey Colony, Goregaon, Mumbai on Wednesday, 1st May, 2024. This felicitation ceremony was organized by Maharashtra’s leading labour organization “Dhadak Kamgar Union” on the occasion of Maharashtra Day and International Labour Day.
Many dignitaries including Dhadak Kamgar Union founder Abhijit Rane, renowned educationist Dr. Rajendra Singh, famous music director Dilip Sen, RTI activist Anil Galgali and senior journalist Rajesh Vikrant were present in this grand ceremony, in which a total of 18 personalities who made outstanding contributions in the fields of literature, music and journalism were honoured. It is noteworthy that Mr. Mahatpurkar retired in October, 2021 after providing his active services for more than 27 years in the Public Relations Department of the Head Office of Western Railway at Churchgate, Mumbai and is currently playing an active role as Executive Member and Media Coordinator in Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy, Mumbai. Before joining the railway service, Mahatpurkar has been an active journalist for about 10 years in Ajmer division of Rajasthan and an All India Radio correspondent for 5 years. His poems and songs are regularly published in the leading newspapers and magazines of the country apart from being broadcast on All India Radio, Doordarshan and major TV channels. The newly created Shri Ram Mangalgaan music album on the song written by him has become popular on YouTube these days and is being liked a lot.
