The terrorist attack of 26/11 shook not only Mumbai but the entire country. In various programs organized to observe this black day, Dr. Mrs. Manju Lodha, well-known social worker, President of Lodha Foundation and author of the best-selling book “Paramveer Chakra Award”, paid emotional tribute to the brave martyrs and innocent citizens who died in these terrorist attacks and said that the courage of these brave martyrs and soldiers will always remain exemplary and inspirational for the coming generations.
The main program was organized as a special tribute meeting at the memorial of Shaheed Tukaram Omble built by Lodha Foundation and Mumbai Municipal Corporation at Girgaon Chowpatty. The gathering remembered the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of ASI Martyr Tukaram Omble who laid down his life in the unfortunate 26/11 attacks and captured terrorist Ajmal Kasab alive and paid heartfelt tributes to other brave soldiers martyred along with him in the attacks like Martyr Hemant Karkare, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, Additional Police Commissioner of Mumbai Ashok Kate, and Senior Police Inspector Vijay Salaskar who laid down their lives for the safety of Mumbai city. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Manju Lodha said that the statue of Martyr Tukaram Omble and the photo frame dedicated to all the brave heroes are a deep reminder of their extraordinary sacrifice. This place is not only a true tribute to their indomitable courage but also inspires us with the devotion and dedication shown by them. Mrs Lodha said that today’s day gives us an opportunity to remember the courage and sacrifice of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our safe future. Therefore, we have to take inspiration from their ideals and remain united against terrorism and continuously strive towards world peace. She said that 26/11 is not just a day of remembrance, but also a symbol of Mumbai’s unshakable strength and never-bending spirit.
Maharaktdan Camp at Churchgate Railway Station by Parmarth Seva Samiti
To pay emotional tribute to the martyrs who died during the 26/11 terrorist attacks in the country’s financial capital Mumbai, Mumbai’s leading social service organization “Parmarth Seva Samiti” successfully organized the 198th Maharaktdan Camp. This camp was organized on Tuesday, 26th November 2024, in front of the Station Manager’s Office in Churchgate Railway Station premises, Mumbai from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, in which a large number of people registered their participation and ensured blood donation. Mrs. Manju Lodha, President of Lodha Foundation and Vice President of Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Academy and Mrs. Nisha Suman Jain inaugurated the camp by cutting the ribbon. On this occasion, Mrs. Manju Lodha said that organizing this blood donation camp for the needy is a true tribute to all the martyrs. Dr. Gopal Biyani and Dr. Uttam Jain were the guides of the camp. Organizing committee conveners Santosh Somani, Govind Saraf, Rajesh Maheshwari and Anand Prakash Gupta played an important role in making the camp a success. The camp was specially supported by Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh, Red Cross Hospital and N.S.S. Cell Mumbai University. The program was courtesy of Jainson Group of Industry. Each blood donor was honored with a certificate and gift from Parmarth Seva Samiti. Through this event, the importance of blood donation in the society was highlighted while expressing gratitude to the martyrs of 26/11. A large number of people participated at both Churchgate and Girgaon Chowpatty. This public participation is a symbol of the unity and strength of Mumbai.
