Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.50786.16 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 29 January 2025 till 5:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9741.15 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 41044.14 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Feb-25 futures was reached at 19400 point.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 6653.58 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.19% to Rs. 80440 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Jan-25 contract was down by 0.27% to Rs. 64409 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.45% to Rs. 7979 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.32% to Rs. 80420 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.35% to Rs. 91374 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.35% to Rs. 91331 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.32% to Rs. 91308 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3766.07 crores with volume of 4665 lots and OI of 17384 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 969.71 crores with volume of 3537 lots and OI of 25671 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1441.97 crores. COPPER Jan-25 contract was down by 0.66% to Rs. 819 per kg and ZINC Jan-25 contract was up by 0.34% to Rs. 262 per kg while ALUMINIUM Jan-25 contract was up by 0.96% to Rs. 251.75 per kg and LEAD Jan-25 contract was up by 1.03% to Rs. 177.4 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 710.05 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 165.56 crores, Lead futures Rs. 62.97 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 336.38 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1636.32 crores. CRUDEOIL Feb-25 without any changes 6340 per BBL while NATURALGAS Feb-25 contract was down by 0.96% to Rs. 267.8 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 341.55 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1035.20 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.11% to Rs. 915 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was down by 0.84% to Rs. 51930 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 41044.14 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 866.52 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6400 was up by 7.07% to Rs. 160.50 with volume of 56026 lots & OI of 10536 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was up by 5.83% to Rs. 165.2 with volume of 42681 lots & OI of 7869 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was down by 5.13% to Rs. 14.80 with volume of 11598 lots & OI of 3750 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.260 was up by 14.71% to Rs. 11.7 with volume of 10003 lots & OI of 3452 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.82000 was up by 4.86% to Rs. 820.00 with volume of 411 lots & OI of 267 lots, while Gold Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was up by 0.31% to Rs. 822 with volume of 728 lots & OI of 478 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.91000 was up by 7.16% to Rs. 2670.00 with volume of 692 lots & OI of 326 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 4.51% to Rs. 1840 with volume of 469 lots & OI of 899 lots.
