
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.98265.71 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 27 February 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 14513.91 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 83749.27 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Mar-25 futures was reached at 20315.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 11637.97 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.7% to Rs. 85270 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Feb-25 contract was down by 1.43% to Rs. 69000 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Feb-25 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs. 8683 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Mar-25 contract was down by 0.7% to Rs. 85234 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.15% to Rs. 94501 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was down by 0.1% to Rs. 94855 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was down by 0.16% to Rs. 94865 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 5677.73 crores with volume of 6649 lots and OI of 17120 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2815.43 crores with volume of 9814 lots and OI of 24019 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1205.28 crores. COPPER Feb-25 contract was up by 0.69% to Rs. 864.4 per kg and ZINC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.11% to Rs. 269 per kg while ALUMINIUM Feb-25 contract was down by 1.21% to Rs. 257.6 per kg and LEAD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.79% to Rs. 177.75 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 759.06 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 181.94 crores, Lead futures Rs. 7.02 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 167.95 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1719.04 crores. CRUDEOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 1.03% to Rs. 6062 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was down by 0.77% to Rs. 347 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 241.28 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1180.61 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Feb-25 contract was up by 0.15% to Rs. 918 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was down by 0.41% to Rs. 53510 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 83749.27 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 692.11 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 18.65% to Rs. 191.50 with volume of 25412 lots & OI of 7571 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 16.59% to Rs. 133.2 with volume of 27817 lots & OI of 9984 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.350 was down by 4.76% to Rs. 20.00 with volume of 9910 lots & OI of 3417 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.340 was up by 5.25% to Rs. 17.05 with volume of 10028 lots & OI of 3500 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.86000 was down by 74.05% to Rs. 68.00 with volume of 11402 lots & OI of 1774 lots, while Gold Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 159.62% to Rs. 202.5 with volume of 12093 lots & OI of 1458 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was down by 1.23% to Rs. 3408.50 with volume of 242 lots & OI of 193 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by 5.67% to Rs. 2571 with volume of 441 lots & OI of 308 lots.
