Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.64923.61 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 24 March 2025 till 3:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 10529.67 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 54391.62 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr-25 futures was reached at 20925.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7584.88 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was down by 0.02% to Rs. 87760 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Mar-25 contract was down by 1.28% to Rs. 70675 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Mar-25 contract was down by 0.61% to Rs. 8918 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Apr-25 contract was down by 0.01% to Rs. 87780 per 10 gram.
SILVER May-25 contract was up by 0.24% to Rs. 98122 per kg, while SILVERM Apr-25 contract was up by 0.26% to Rs. 98148 per kg and SILVERMIC Apr-25 contract was up by 0.26% to Rs. 98142 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4852.28 crores with volume of 5515 lots and OI of 21112 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 929.63 crores with volume of 3152 lots and OI of 20381 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1824.17 crores. COPPER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.88% to Rs. 906.95 per kg and ZINC Mar-25 contract was up by 0.64% to Rs. 277.2 per kg while ALUMINIUM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.39% to Rs. 256.65 per kg and LEAD Mar-25 contract was up by 0.25% to Rs. 179.05 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1342.22 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 192.07 crores, Lead futures Rs. 25.73 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 177.26 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1168.45 crores. CRUDEOIL Apr-25 contract was up by 0.32% to Rs. 5919 per BBL while NATURALGAS Mar-25 contract was down by 1.22% to Rs. 340 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 212.49 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 786.26 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Mar-25 contract was up by 0.1% to Rs. 920 per kg and COTTONCNDY Mar-25 contract was down by 0.66% to Rs. 52690 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 54391.62 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 485.01 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was up by 3.84% to Rs. 181.30 with volume of 28223 lots & OI of 10120 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 4.32% to Rs. 168.5 with volume of 23946 lots & OI of 9042 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.340 was down by 52.05% to Rs. 4.10 with volume of 30841 lots & OI of 7621 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.335 was down by 12.73% to Rs. 2.4 with volume of 26779 lots & OI of 5711 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.88000 was down by 8.26% to Rs. 300.00 with volume of 4464 lots & OI of 1159 lots, while Gold Put Option Mar-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.87000 was down by 14.41% to Rs. 151.5 with volume of 4119 lots & OI of 1419 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.99000 was up by 7.82% to Rs. 2240.50 with volume of 464 lots & OI of 381 lots, while Silver Put Option Apr-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.98000 was down by 3.81% to Rs. 2498.5 with volume of 362 lots & OI of 293 lots.
